David Simpson graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a degree in Photography. His career as a photographer took him across the nation and around the globe. A few years later, David became drawn to moving images, and transitioned into the role of a film director. His accomplished eye for form, light and movement has earned him an exceptional reputation, as well as a number of accolades and awards in the commercial film field. But, over time, as with so many things in life, we often revisit our roots. For David, things have come full circle. While he maintains his career as a director, he has also returned to still imagery with a renewed vigor and the proverbial fresh eye that brings new insights into his work. David has just finished his third book of photography, “The Swan at Loch Raven:, for 2015 and is in the planning stages of his fourth.
